Duh, don’t take them out in public…Just kidding! Fortunate for us, our 3-yr old’s last big public meltdown was almost a year ago. We’ve had smaller, more manageable and less annoying tantrums, for sure. If I can distract him out of a tantrum, I’ll get him away from the spotlight (ie other people) and wait for him to calm down. I’ve never had to leave my cart full of stuff & leave the store though. Thank goodness. It was enough trouble getting them out of the house and into a cart! Hope this tantrum ended well & you didn’t need too much wine.
The big meltdowns, we do the complete evacuation if possible. If we need the stuff at the store,I will take them to the car until they calm down. I try to ignore them when possible. It always helps to have a Craigslist ad prewritten to post about selling them to pig farmers in Ic land. That usually gets them crying for a different reason though.
